Deputy Governor Odey Vows To Support Ori As He Attempts To Set New Guinness World Record

The Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, has hailed Master Ori Benedict Agbor of the department of English Education, University of Calabar for his ambition to break the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous read-aloud session.

Ori who hails from Ojirim-Mbube in Ogoja Local Government Area will be embarking on the read-aloud session from February 12 to February 17 2024.

Speaking during a courtesy visit paid on him by the National Association of Ogoja Students Worldwide, Hon Odey said Academics remain paramount in the life of every student who passes through any tertiary institution.

While pledging his unalloyed support for Ori Benedict, he advised the students to set goals for themselves regularly and strive to achieve them.

He however expressed his admiration for Ori Benedict’s determination and encouraged him to persevere in his pursuit.

In an interview with Master Ori Benedict, he revealed that having received official approval from the Guinness World Records management team, he will be reading the Holy Bible aloud for 150 hours spanning 5 days, from February 12th to February 17th, 2024, aiming to beat the already existing record of 124 hours set by Rysbai Isakov in 2022.
