Ekpang Urges Citizens to Advantage of Ongoing Voters Registration

The Cross River State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Erasmus Ekpang, has urged eligible citizens to take full advantage of the ongoing voter registration exercise organized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure their voices are heard in the upcoming elections.

In an exclusive interview with Africa Independent Television (AIT) in his office, Wednesday, Dr. Ekpang emphasized that voter registration is the foundation of participatory democracy.

He highlighted that the Government has made significant efforts to intensify public campaigns across all 18 local government areas to raise awareness about the ongoing voter registration exercise.

This according to him would encourage eligible citizens to register and exercise their civic right to vote, stressing that voting is a crucial aspect of democracy and that every eligible citizen should participate.

The commissioner appealed to the people of Cross River not to simply discuss government issues but to actively participate by registering to vote.

He noted that their vote is their power and that by registering, citizens can hold their leaders accountable.

Dr. Ekpang's call to action emphasizes the significance of voter registration in shaping the future of Cross River State. By registering to vote, citizens can influence policy decisions and leadership. The commissioner's emphasis on participatory democracy highlights the need for citizens to engage in the electoral process actively.
