Gov Otu Commends Abuja Team for Successful Hosting of Constitution Review Committee

The Executive Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Otu, has lauded the State’s Abuja Team for their exceptional coordination and successful hosting of the House of Representatives Committee on Constitution Review during its recent engagement.

In a statement issued from the Governor’s Office, Governor Otu expressed profound appreciation for the team’s professionalism and dedication in advancing the state’s interests at the federal level. He specifically commended the Special Adviser on National Assembly Matters, Ntufam (Hon.) Chris Njah Mbu-Ogar, and the Special Adviser, Liaison Office Abuja, Mrs. Sarah Edet Archibong, for representing Cross River State with excellence, integrity, and visibility.

The Governor reaffirmed his confidence in both advisers and encouraged them to continue promoting the image and interests of the state in Abuja and on all national platforms.

Responding on behalf of the team, Ntufam Hon. Chris Njah Mbu-Ogar, who led the coordination efforts, thanked Governor Otu for his unwavering support and trust. He noted that the Governor’s encouragement continues to serve as a powerful source of motivation for the Abuja team.

He also extended gratitude to the Deputy Governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Dr. Peter Odey, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Anthony Owan Enoh, and the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar, describing them as dependable partners whose support and collaboration were instrumental to the success of the high-level constitutional engagement.

Reflecting on the recent public hearing held in Calabar, the South-South Zonal Centre, Mbu-Ogar praised the Chairman of the House Committee on Constitution Review, Rt. Hon. Kingsley Chinda, and his team for their patience and willingness to listen to the concerns and aspirations of Cross Riverians. He urged the Committee to give serious consideration to the key submissions made by the people of the state in the ongoing constitutional amendment process.

The successful hosting of the Constitution Review Committee, he noted, once again affirms Cross River State’s commitment to constructive national dialogue and its readiness to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s democratic and legislative development.
