The rich cultural heritage of the Yakurr Nation comes alive once again as we celebrate Leboku International New Yam Festival 2026 a colourful expression of our culture, tradition, unity and shared prosperity.
This year’s celebration is proudly anchored on the theme:
“Rooted in Culture, Growing in Prosperity.”
The Leboku Festival is more than a celebration of the new yam. It is a powerful reminder of who we are, where we come from, and the enduring values that bind our communities together. It is a celebration of our farmers, our heritage, our people and the abundance that comes from the land.
Under the leadership of His Excellency, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu, Governor of Cross River State, the Government of Cross River State, in partnership with the good people of Yakurr Nation, invites everyone to experience the colour, pageantry, music, dance, tradition and hospitality that make Leboku one of Africa’s remarkable cultural festivals.
