A 17-member delegation from Study Group Six of the Senior Executive Course (SEC) 48, 2026, of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), has commended the Cross River State Government for its sustained commitment to enterprise development and initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods across the state.
The delegation, led by Professor S.Y.B. Kura and comprising senior executives from various federal parastatals and the Presidency, made the commendation during a working visit to the Cross River State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency (CRSMEDA) as part of its strategic study tour of the state.
Welcoming the delegation, the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of CRSMEDA, Mr. Great Ogban, expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as an opportunity for meaningful engagement and exchange of ideas on enterprise development.
Ogban highlighted the agency’s achievements and interventions over the years, particularly its efforts to promote the growth of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and create opportunities for entrepreneurs across Cross River State.
He explained that CRSMEDA remained committed to strengthening the capacity of local enterprises, supporting entrepreneurship and creating an enabling environment for businesses to contribute more effectively to the state’s economic development.
The engagement provided an interactive platform for the exchange of knowledge and experiences, with discussions focusing on enterprise development, policy alignment, investment opportunities and strategies for strengthening the state’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The delegation also toured CRSMEDA’s facilities to gain first-hand insight into the agency’s operations and interventions, as well as Cross River’s broader enterprise and investment landscape.
The study group further explored the state’s investment opportunities and tourism potential, gaining a deeper understanding of the relationship between enterprise development, local economic activity and the state’s tourism assets.
The visit formed part of the delegation’s strategic study tour, designed to expose participants to practical experiences and policy initiatives that could enrich their understanding of development challenges and opportunities.
At the conclusion of the visit, the NIPSS delegation presented an award of recognition to CRSMEDA in appreciation of the agency’s contributions to the development of the MSME sector.
The delegation also expressed appreciation for the warm reception and hospitality extended to its members during their engagement in Cross River State.
