The Executive Chairman of Obudu Local Government Area, Hon. Dr. (Amb) Peter Akonfe Undiandeye, KSM, has called on all eligible residents of the LGA to actively participate in the ward-to-ward Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which commences today, Monday, 26th January 2026.
In a statement released on Monday, the Chairman emphasized that the CVR exercise presents a vital opportunity for first-time voters to register, for those who have relocated to transfer their voter cards, and for others to correct or update their voter information. He noted that active civic participation remains the bedrock of democratic governance and urged residents not to be left out of this crucial national assignment.
The Chairman further stressed the importance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) E-Registration, encouraging party members and supporters across Obudu LGA to ensure they are properly captured in the party’s digital register. According to him, the e-registration process is key to strengthening the party’s internal structure, enhancing accountability, and preparing adequately for future political engagements.
To ensure the success of both exercises, the Chairman directed Ward Relations Officers, Councillors, Supervisors, and all political appointees to take full responsibility for effective grassroots mobilization. They are to sensitize and encourage their constituents to turn out in large numbers and participate fully in the INEC CVR and APC e-registration processes within their respective wards.
He reiterated that leadership begins at the grassroots and charged all stakeholders to demonstrate commitment by working closely with community leaders, youth groups, women associations, and party faithful to ensure no eligible resident is left behind.
The Obudu Local Government Council reassured residents of its full support for INEC and the APC in delivering a smooth, peaceful, and successful exercise across all wards of the LGA.
Residents are therefore encouraged to visit their designated ward centers promptly and take advantage of this opportunity to secure their civic and political future.
