The Cross River State Head of Service, Barr. Orok Bassey Okon, has reminded all civil and public servants that Phase One of the ongoing Personnel Audit/Verification Exercise will close on Friday, July 31, 2026. Barr. Okon said the online document verification is a critical component of the State Government’s public service reform agenda, aimed at strengthening accountability, enhancing transparency, and ensuring the integrity of the state workforce database. He urged all civil servants who are yet to complete the process to do so before the deadline, stressing that the exercise is mandatory for all eligible officers across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs). According to him, officers are required to upload and validate their official documents through the designated verification portal. He advised those experiencing challenges with uploads or other technical issues to seek assistance immediately through the designated support channels before the portal closes. The Head of Service added that the completion of the online phase will pave the way for subsequent stages of the audit, including physical verification and biometric capture, as scheduled by government. The Office of the Head of Service, therefore, calls on all Accounting Officers, Permanent Secretaries, Directors of Administration, and Heads of Administration to ensure that every eligible staff member under their supervision completes the online verification on or before July 31, 2026. “The Cross River State Government remains committed to building a more efficient, transparent, and accountable public service through the successful implementation of the Personnel Audit/Verification Exercise,” Barr. Okon said.
