The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS), Professor Francisca Bassey, has led University Management and representatives of SKYRUN International on an inspection of facilities earmarked for the implementation of the institution’s academic partnership with Zhejiang College, China.
The inspection marked a significant step towards translating the partnership into tangible academic opportunities for UNICROSS students and staff, with the team assessing designated classrooms and office spaces ahead of their renovation, furnishing and equipping for the commencement of the programme.
The partnership is anchored on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between UNICROSS and Zhejiang College in October 2025, through the facilitation of SKYRUN International, with the objective of strengthening international academic collaboration, promoting knowledge exchange and advancing educational development.
Professor Bassey personally led the inspection, accompanied by members of the University Management, including the Director of Academic Planning, Dr. Hannah Etta.
Speaking on the purpose of the exercise, Dr. Etta explained that the visiting partners were at the University to assess the proposed facilities and determine the level of preparation required ahead of the commencement of the programme.
She disclosed that the designated building, which will house classrooms and offices, would undergo significant upgrades to bring it in line with the standards required for the collaboration.
According to her, the planned improvements include the installation of modern Information and Communication Technology (ICT) facilities, interactive boards, furniture and other essential infrastructure to create a conducive learning and administrative environment.
The SKYRUN International delegation was led by its Assistant General Manager, Mr. Dennis Ogidi, alongside other team members, including Mr. Lie Yang Tao.
Mr. Ogidi said the inspection was aimed at assessing the University’s level of preparedness and identifying facilities requiring renovation, upgrading and modernisation before the programme takes off.
He further disclosed that SKYRUN International would support the provision of modern equipment and other facilities, including interactive boards and ICT infrastructure, to facilitate the smooth implementation of the academic programme.
The inspection team subsequently toured the designated classrooms and office spaces, assessing the existing infrastructure and identifying areas requiring intervention to bring the facilities up to the desired standard.
