Preparations are gathering momentum in Cross River State for a mega rally in support of the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Bassey Otu, as the political support group Prince Is Coming (PIC) has unveiled an elaborate planning structure for the grand event.
The group, regarded as the largest political support movements in the state, announced the constitution of a Central Planning Committee alongside several strategic sub-committees to coordinate the forthcoming rally, which is expected to attract massive participation from supporters across Cross River State.
The Director General of the group and Chief of Staff to the Governor, Emmanuel Ironbar, after consultations with key stakeholders, released the list of members of the Central Planning Committee. The committee is chaired by the Chairman of Obudu Local Government Area, Hon. Peter Undiandeye.
The Commissioner for Commerce, Dr. (Mrs.) Abigail Duke Orok, will serve as Vice Chairman, while the Special Adviser to the Governor on Asset Management and Recovery, Barr. Gilbert Agbor, has been appointed Secretary of the Central Planning Committee.
Other members of the committee include prominent political leaders and stakeholders drawn from across the state, reflecting what observers describe as a broad coalition of supporters committed to ensuring the success of the rally.
To ensure effective coordination and smooth execution of the event, the group also constituted several sub-committees with clearly defined responsibilities. These include the Branding and Venue Committee, Accommodation Committee, Contact and Mobilization Committee, Security Committee, Media and Publicity Committee, Welfare and Entertainment Committee, Medical Committee, Protocol Committee, Monitoring, Evaluation and Feedback Committee, Women Mobilization Committee, Non-Indigenes Mobilisation Committee, and the Finance Committee.
The rally is expected to serve as a major political endorsement platform for President Tinubu and Governor Otu ahead of the next electoral cycle, with supporters already describing it as a defining moment for consolidating political support across the state.
Although the exact date and venue of the rally are yet to be announced, organisers say preparations are progressing steadily to deliver what they describe as a historic political gathering in Cross River State.
