The Project Management Team (PMT) of the Obubra WASH Intervention Programme, comprising representatives from the Cross River State Ministry of Water Resources, the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWATSSA), the Ministry of International Development Cooperation (MIDC), and donor partners from Self Help Africa, has received the Workplan Report for the intervention.
Recall that Governor Bassey Edet Otu, had earlier approved ₦95 million as counterpart funding for the Obubra Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) intervention aimed at improving access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene across Obubra Local Government Area.
During the joint session, the PMT and the Project Implementation Team (PIT) deliberated on the detailed Workplan Report presented by Mr. Ebit Bassey and his team. The report outlined timelines, responsibilities, and key deliverables for the implementation phase of the project.
Present at the meeting were the General Manager of RUWATSSA, Hon. Sunday Oko; the Commissioner for Water Resources, Barr. Bassey Mensah Esq; the Permanent Secretary and WASH Steering Committee Chairman, Engr. Okon Ita; RUWATSSA Director of Admin - Mrs Patience Ebit, the representatives of Self Help Africa, Edorgu Ebiye and Mr James Edu; Mr. Ebit Bassey and other PIT team members; as well as other key stakeholders from relevant Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
In his closing remarks, The General Manager Hon. Sunday Oko appreciated the Program Manager Mr Bassey Ebit and his team, as well as Self Help Africa, for their consistent support and partnership. He further commended all members of the PMT for their dedication and teamwork, charging everyone to remain ready and ensure all preparations are completed before field deployment begins later this week.
The session marks another milestone in the collective effort to deliver sustainable Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) outcomes in Obubra, reaffirming the Otu-led administration’s commitment to strengthening partnerships and improving community well-being across Cross River State.
