Residents of Cross River State have hailed the Governor, Prince Bassey Edet Otu, for the free bus ride across different parts of the state.
Speaking with our Medium, Mrs. Martha Akorokpor praised the free bus ride ascribed to the Governor and lauded him for the initiative, which has eased residents of the burden of high transportation fares owing to the removal of subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit, otherwise, known as fuel.
“I have benefited from the free bus ride of our dear Governor, His Excellency, Prince Edet Otu. I boarded and benefitted from the free bus ride from Watt. Market to Atimbo. It was a blissful experience.” Mrs. Akorokpor, said.
Also praising the Governor, Effiong Otu Edet, a resident of Calabar Municipal said: “I boarded a bus from Marian Market to Ikot Ansa. When I wanted to pay, the driver told me that the ride was free and was already paid for. We are grateful to the Governor for easing the burden of high cost of transportation on the masses. May God bless him.”
According to information posted on various online groups, the free transport service extends to the following designated locations:
1. Abi Park – Highway by King Street
2. Ugep Park – IBB Road, opposite Area Command
3. Roumchi Park, Etagbor – For Ogoja
4. Okpomo Park, Etagbor – For Ikom
5. Obudu Park, Etagbor – For Obudu
6. Akpabuyo/Ikang Park – IBB Roundabout
7. Okurikang Park – NNPC, opposite Stadium, in Cross River State.
