The Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, has presented anti-malaria vaccines worth N30 million to the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, who visited the Embassy in Abuja, Thursday.
This gesture underscores the commitment of the Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu led administration to improve the living conditions and wellbeing of the citizenry.
The donation, which is also coming with the proposed training for doctors and nurses as part of component in the medical support to the State is a testament to the strong partnership the duo have enjoyed over the years.
In his speech during the landmark event, the Ambassador Yu Dunhai, expressed his desire to visit the State, praising its beautiful scenery and raised the hope for a fruitful working relationship with Governor Otu and the good people of Cross River.
Responding, Governor Otu who thanked the Chinese Government for the generous donation, welcomed the envoy to Nigeria while pledging to foster a mutually beneficial relationship with China.
He promised to keep the Chinese Embassy updated on developments in the health, agriculture, and tourism sectors for possible collaboration and expressed his readiness to transform Cross River from a civil service State to a more viable economic zone.
Also speaking, the Minister Counselor, Wang Yingqi of the Chinese Embassy assured that Cross River State will be prioritized in more future trainings and events that would be beneficial to it.
This historic donation marks the beginning of a new era of cooperation between Cross River State and China, promising a brighter future for the people of Cross River State.
