The Special Assistant to the Cross River state Governor on APC Support Groups, Comrade Clement Asanye, has been lauded for his initiative of providing free medical health services to the people of Calabar Municipality.
Some beneficiaries of the free medical outreach, who spoke with BEAGLE NEWS described the outreach as timely, especially now that Nigerians are passing through untold hardship.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Queen Otu, while speaking with our reporter said considering the economy, having a free medical test is a privilege. Stating that people find it difficult to go for comprehensive medical checkup because of the cost involved, so having it free of charge is a privilege.
Victoria Clement Dickson, who said she was invited by her friend for the medical checkup, attested to the fact that she rarely goes for checkup.
“Normally, I don’t go for checkup, but when I came here and I was checked, I discovered I am not okay, so I was given drugs. I sincerely thank the initiator of this program for giving us this opportunity”.
Micheal Etefia who said he has been having prolonged waist pain and has also been looking for an avenue to go for checkup, thanked the initiator for bringing the outreach to their doorstep, adding that he believes his problem will be settled.
On his part, the sponsor of the project and Special Assistant to the Governor on APC Support Groups, Comrade Clement Asanye, said the free medical outreach which is organized by his office in collaboration with Millennium Nature Path international is aimed at complementing the governor's effort in the health sector.
He hinted that the 7 day outreach which was billed to run from December 6 to 12 has so far attended to over 300 beneficiaries from all works of life regardless of religion, ethnicity or political affiliation.
He, however, thanked his excellency Senator Bassey Otu for finding him worthy to serve as special assistant which has in-turn affected the general public positively.
Mr Emmanuel Etim, who spoke on behalf of the medical partners of the outreach Millennium Nature Path International, said the outreach Carrie’s out general body checkup, Blood pressure, sugar level, HIV etc.
His disclosed that they have experts who carry out the test and recommend medications. He added that they have been following with the patients and provide follow-up counseling and advice.
The 7 day medical outreach was held at Paramount partners building, plot 4A, Road 13, Federal Housing estate Calabar.
