The Executive Chairman of Etung Local Government Council, Hon. Henry Njar Anom, has reshuffled his administrative team with the appointment of a new Press Secretary and other key aides in a move aimed at strengthening governance and improving service delivery across the local government.
The appointments, which take immediate effect, were announced in separate press releases dated July 2, and signed by the Supervisor for Information, Orientation and New Media, Engr. Assam Takim Assam.
As part of the restructuring, Mr. Effiong Bassey Effiom was appointed Press Secretary to the Chairman of Etung Local Government Council.
Congratulating the new appointee, Hon. Anom charged Mr. Effiom to bring his wealth of experience in the public sector to bear in promoting the policies, programmes and achievements of the council, while ensuring effective communication between the government and the people.
The Chairman expressed confidence that the new Press Secretary would contribute meaningfully to advancing the administration’s development agenda through timely and professional dissemination of information.
In a related development, Hon. Anom also approved the appointment of Mr. Chris Egbe Mayo as Special Assistant on Sports Development and Mr. Shedrach Ita Ebungu as Ward Relations Officer.
The appointments followed the elevation of the former occupants of the positions, Mr. Cyril Oru Ojong and Hon. Victor Okpa, who are now serving as Ward Development Officers following their appointments by Governor Bassey Otu.
Similarly, Mr. Destiny Ogar Ntui was appointed Protocol Officer to the Chairman, with responsibility for coordinating official engagements and protocol activities of the council.
While congratulating the newly appointed officials, Hon. Anom urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by demonstrating dedication, professionalism and commitment in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He also wished the outgone appointees success in their new assignments, expressing appreciation for their contributions to the council and confidence that they would continue to serve diligently in their new capacities.
