The Paramount Ruler of Etung Local Government Area, Ntufam Ambassador Anthony Ntui Etta II, has commended the member representing Etung State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Kingsley Ntui Isong, for what he described as outstanding performance and impactful constituency projects.
The royal father gave the commendation while assessing the lawmaker’s interventions across communities in Etung, noting that his efforts have significantly improved the socio-economic conditions of the people.
He particularly lauded the establishment of a modern motor park in Ajassor Ward, describing it as a strategic infrastructure that will boost transportation and stimulate economic activities in the area.
The monarch also highlighted the provision of solar-powered borehole water projects in Ajassor Mission, CRIN, and Ajassor Catholic Church, all of which are fully functional, as well as ongoing reticulated solar-powered water schemes in Bendeghe-Ekiem, Etomi, and Effraya communities.
In the area of economic empowerment, the Paramount Ruler praised the implementation of a ₦15 million mini agro-cocoa programme designed to support local farmers and enhance agricultural productivity.
He further acknowledged the lawmaker’s annual constituency engagement programme held in Effraya, which features the distribution of food items and cash support to residents across the ten wards of Etung.
Other initiatives commended include the distribution of wrappers to over 500 women, provision of scholarships to students, and regular purchase of JAMB and WAEC forms for indigenes to support access to education.
The royal father also noted the facilitation of employment opportunities for over 15 indigenes at local, state, and federal levels, describing it as a demonstration of responsive and people-oriented representation.
On legislative performance, he disclosed that the lawmaker has sponsored over 15 motions and three bills in the State Assembly, contributing meaningfully to governance and policy development.
He further commended efforts to promote cultural heritage through the decoration of traditional rulers and sustained engagement with community leaders, which he said has strengthened unity across the local government area.
The Paramount Ruler also praised ongoing efforts to actualise the proposed Etung Border International Market through public-private partnership arrangements involving foreign investors and the state government.
While urging the lawmaker to sustain the momentum, the monarch called on leaders and stakeholders in Etung to support his re-election bid, noting that continuity would enhance the constituency’s chances of attaining principal positions in the Assembly.
He reaffirmed his support for the administration of Governor Bassey Edet Otu, describing the governor as focused and development-driven, and urged continued alignment with his “People First” agenda.
