Gov. Otu Lays Foundation For Ogoja Governor's Lodge Reconstruction

Governor Bassey Otu has laid the foundation for the reconstruction of the Governor’s Lodge in Ogoja. This facility is designed to serve as a residence for the governor whenever he visits the Northern Senatorial District.

In his remarks, at Ogoja township, weekend, Governor Otu restated his readiness to spending more time in the north in order to oversee projects and ensure the effective implementation of other government programmes in the northern part of the state.

He noted that this initiative would enable him to connect more closely with the people and monitor activities in the region firsthand.

"Currently, the seat of government in Calabar is approximately 400 kilometers away from some parts of the north, creating accessibility challenges for residents in the district.

"The reconstruction of the Governor’s Lodge is a strategic step to addressing this issue, improving government presence and accessibility for the people of the Northern Senatorial District," the Governor remarked.
