The Executive Chairman of Obudu Local Government Council, Hon. Peter Akonfe Undiandeye, Ph.D., KSM, has congratulated veteran Nollywood actor and lawyer, Kanayo O. Kanayo, on his conferment with the prestigious chieftaincy title of Utsu Ufum 01 of Obudu by the Paramount Ruler of Obudu, HRM Utsu Felix Ukudare, at the Paramount Ruler’s Palace. The Chairman was accompanied by the Vice Chairman of the Council, Hon. Rhoda Ashong, and the Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon. Agnes Atsu, as they joined other distinguished guests and stakeholders to witness the historic occasion.
Hon. Undiandeye described the honour as a significant recognition of Kanayo O. Kanayo’s remarkable contributions to the Nigerian entertainment industry, his enduring influence as an accomplished actor, and his growing affinity with the people and cultural heritage of Obudu. He noted that the conferment reflects the esteem in which the celebrated thespian is held and further strengthens the bonds between the entertainment industry and Obudu’s rich traditional institution.
The Chairman expressed confidence that the new title comes with greater responsibilities and urged the renowned actor to continue using his platform and influence to promote culture, unity, peace and positive values. He wished Utsu Ufum 01 of Obudu continued success, good health and fulfilment in his endeavours, while congratulating the Paramount Ruler and the people of Obudu for honouring a distinguished Nigerian.
