Security Infrastructure: Gov. Otu Gives Police Command, Others Facelift

The Cross River State Government has embarked on a comprehensive rehabilitation and construction initiative to enhance security infrastructure across the state. This effort, spearheaded by Governor Bassey Edet Otu, aims to bolster the capacity of security agencies and foster collaboration to ensure the safety and well-being of residents.

The initiative involves the rehabilitation of structures and construction of access roads across key security installations, including the Cross River State Police Command, 13 Brigade Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air Force, Federal Road Safety Corps, and the Department of State Services. This underscores Governor Otu's commitment to providing a conducive environment for effective policing and inter-agency collaboration.

During an inspection tour conducted by the Department of Projects/Programs Monitoring and Evaluation, alongside the Ministry of Works, Special Adviser Mr. Raphael Morphy commended the governor's dedication to strengthening law enforcement and fostering public confidence.

“Governor Otu’s unwavering commitment to the timely completion of these projects demonstrates his broader vision to stimulate collaboration among security agencies. This initiative boosts morale, enhances policing efficiency, and lays a solid foundation for sustained development by promoting productivity and ensuring equitable distribution of infrastructure,” Morphy stated.

The upgraded infrastructure is expected to improve the operational capacity of security agencies, reinforcing their ability to maintain peace and security across the state. Governor Otu’s administration continues to prioritize initiatives that address critical infrastructure needs while fostering a safer and more secure environment for all.
