The Senator representing Cross River Central Senatorial District, Senator Eteng Jonah Williams, has been appointed Deputy Director-General, South-South, of the Tinubu Support Group (TSG), placing the lawmaker in a strategic position to coordinate and strengthen the organisation’s activities across the region.
The appointment was conveyed in a letter dated September 19, 2026, and signed by the Convener and Founder of the Tinubu Support Group, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke.
According to the letter, the appointment was in recognition of Senator Eteng’s leadership experience, professional accomplishments, grassroots engagement and commitment to national development and democratic governance.
As Deputy Director-General, South-South, Senator Eteng will support the coordination and mobilisation of TSG activities across the six states of the geopolitical zone and work with relevant stakeholders to advance the organisation’s objectives.
His responsibilities will also include supporting efforts to communicate and promote the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose administration Senator Eteng said was undertaking reforms aimed at repositioning Nigeria for sustainable development and greater economic opportunities.
Reacting to the appointment, Senator Eteng expressed appreciation to the leadership of the Tinubu Support Group for the confidence reposed in him, assuring that he would bring his legislative experience, commitment and grassroots network to bear on the assignment.
He pledged to work closely with political stakeholders, youth and women groups, support organisations and other critical constituencies across the South-South to deepen engagement and strengthen mobilisation.
Senator Eteng described President Tinubu as a leader with the vision and courage to undertake critical reforms necessary to reposition Nigeria, expressing confidence in the potential of the Renewed Hope Agenda to create greater opportunities for Nigerians.
He said the South-South region would be fully engaged in communicating the policies and programmes of the Federal Government, while ensuring that the concerns and aspirations of the region receive appropriate attention within the national conversation.
“We will deliver the South-South,” Senator Eteng said, pledging to anchor his assignment on consultation, inclusiveness, grassroots mobilisation and sustained engagement with stakeholders across the region.
He expressed confidence that with effective coordination and collective effort, the Tinubu Support Group would continue to deepen engagement with Nigerians and strengthen awareness of the Federal Government’s programmes and initiatives.
Faleke congratulated Senator Eteng on his appointment and expressed confidence in his capacity to contribute meaningfully to the growth and success of the Tinubu Support Group.
The appointment gives Senator Eteng Jonah Williams a broader regional platform to deploy his legislative experience and grassroots reach in advancing stakeholder engagement and the objectives of the Tinubu Support Group across the South-South.
