In continuation of its ongoing assessment tour of key tourist destinations across the state, the Cross River State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture has conducted an on-the-spot inspection of the Kwa Falls in Aningeje, Akamkpa Local Government Area.
This latest visit follows the ministry's recent evaluation of the Agbokim Waterfalls, signaling a sustained effort to revitalize the state's tourism assets.
The Ministry's delegation, led by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Eme Affiah, visited the eco-tourism site to thoroughly evaluate its existing infrastructure, safety features, and overall potential for sustainable development.
The inspection aligns with the strategic directives of the Governor Bassey Otu-led administration to rigorously assess major tourism hubs, upgrade local hospitality frameworks, and properly orient newly deployed ministry personnel.
Recognizing host communities as indispensable partners in sustainable tourism, the delegation also paid a critical courtesy visit to the palace of the Clan Head of Ojuk North, His Royal Highness, Ntufam Sunday Ita Archibong, and his council of chiefs.
Addressing the traditional rulers, Mrs. Affiah reiterated the state government’s unwavering commitment to transforming Cross River’s natural treasures into viable, thriving economic hubs. She emphasized that the development of Kwa Falls would be a deeply collaborative effort designed to directly benefit the people of Aningeje, noting that the host community remains a vital stakeholder in preserving and promoting the site.
In his response, His Royal Highness, Ntufam Sunday Ita Archibong, warmly welcomed the ministry officials and expressed deep appreciation for the government’s renewed attention to the eco-tourism site.
The royal father pledged the full cooperation of his council and the community to ensure a secure, peaceful, and hospitable environment for future visitors and developers.
